STG International is currently accepting resumes for Registered Nurses, Case Managers, Social Workers and Nurse Informatics with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and Psychological Health.
Congress directed the Secretary of Defense (SECDEF) to establish a DoD Centers of Excellence for the prevention, diagnoses, mitigation, treatment, and rehabilitation of traumatic brain injury (TBI), post-traumatic stress disorder, and eye injury. Pursuant to this direction, the DoD stood-up the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury on November 30, 2007. DCoE’s mission is to assess, validate, oversee and facilitate prevention, resilience, identification, treatment, outreach, rehabilitation, and reintegration programs for psychological health (PH) and TBI to ensure the Department of Defense meets the needs of the nation’s military communities, warriors, and families. This mission is supported through with various tools including evaluations of best practices and program evaluation site visits.
The overall aim of a program evaluation and evaluation of best practices is to understand intended and unintended effects of the project, best practice, or program being evaluated.
DCoE conducts program evaluations and evaluation of best practices for a variety of reasons, including:
Ensuring implementation of beneficial practices across the Military Health System (MHS) with respect to PH and TBI;
Developing recommendations which will lead to improved clinical, administrative, and educational processes;
Enabling the MHS to leverage performance information to enhance care delivery methods for our warriors and their families;
Enables DCoE and its partners to assess the impact and effectiveness of projects within DoD’s PH / TBI portfolio of projects, which may accelerate the translation of studies or projects into standard of care or other modalities which would benefit warriors, their families and their communities;
Determining project’s / program’s strengths, weaknesses, and compliance with set goals, and identifying other unforeseen issues;
Proving outcomes utilizing objective data and enhancing the overall level of knowledge across the field of medicine;
Contributes information to cost benefit analysis of why a project or program should be funded, continued to be funded, or have its funding terminated;
Supporting evaluation of best practices site visits with PH and TBI projects and programs and assisting with the implementation and operations of PH and TBI projects, programs and practices that DCoE supports;
Identifying and mitigating barriers to full utilization and implementation of beneficial practices and standards of care for PH and TBI projects and programs;
Assisting with the development of a seamless transition across all levels of DoD and VA treatment for service members and their families;
Identifying gaps in the operation of PH and TBI projects and programs;
Identifying close similarities and / or distinct differences between projects and / or programs; and
Developing collaborative relationships with the uniformed services, MHS facilities, VA and other government and private sector organizations that support assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of service members and their families
Ability to provide accurate and current advice on a variety of health care and patient treatment issues.
Ability to advice on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and the prevention of disease.
Ability to advice on the prescription of medications, diagnostic testing procedures, medical instruments, medical equipment, and medical decision-making.
Must possess a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from a school in the U.S. or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicant’s graduation.
Must be board certified in one of the following specialties: Emergency Medicine, Family / General Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or General Surgery or other generally recognized medical specialty.
