Do you like working with world class physicians and an upbeat staff? Providence Alaska Medical Center has an opening for a Staff RN in the CVIU. The registered nurse is accountable for the delivery and supervision of safe, quality care that is individualized for their assigned patients and follows the nursing process in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act (assessment, planning implementation, evaluation). The registered nurse performs all duties in a manner that respects and supports the family centered care model. Collegial and collaborative care will reflect the philosophy of the Division of Nursing, the Mission and Core Values of the Sisters of Providence, and National Patient Safety Standards. Duties include assisting physicians in performing and completing therapeutic cardiovascular procedures using a variety of specialized equipment, monitors, devices, and supplies. Assist with pre, intra, and post procedure monitoring per hospital protocol. Must demonstate knowledge in cardiac and vascular procedural practice as well as emergency techniques / protocols. Requires basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, invasive cardiovascular pressures, basic EKG analysis. Must be licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Alaska. BLS and ACLS.
