Office in UM Hospital, main campus Brief Summary: This position provides general management and is accountable for CRNA coverage at all UM locations, for all shifts. The incumbent serves as the primary communication link between the Department Chairman and roughly 35 CRNA staff for all matters of clinical and business operations. Required Qualifications: Graduation from a School of Nursing and possession of a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri and certification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist is necessary. Two to three years experience is required. Preferred Qualifications: Strong clinical skills, including trauma services are desired. A minimum of 5 years experience serving as a CRNA leader in an organization of similar scope is highly desired. Detailed Description: Provide clinical anesthesia services in the operating room and/or related patient care environments. Facilitate and be accountable for: scheduling, time off, hiring, disciplinary action, quality improvement, staff education, and all other traditional management functions inherent with the provision of anesthesia by CRNA?s. Of critical importance will be the Chief CRNA?s ability to articulate and carry out the vision of the Chairman. Thus, the Chief CRNA will play a central role in the development and maintenance of productive communication between the department?s physicians and CRNA staff.
