Responsibilities: Clinical Practice • Provides safe quality general, regional and monitored anesthesia/analgesia care. • Coordinates with the physicians in the alleviation of pain and discomfort.• Provides anesthesia for emergency c/sections under the direction and presence of a licensed physician or surgeon if the anesthesiologist is not immediately available or until such time that anesthesiology is present.• Functions as a member of the OB/Care team to identify opportunities and risks and assist as indicated.Consultation• Provides consultation to influence plan of care for patients, enhance abilities of others and overall impact positive changes in system and care delivery.• Provides consultation in-house as needed for areas of expertise.Administrative Functions• Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and developing patient care practices.• Works to influence policy and care standard development in accordance with national practice standards.• Supports BHS goals and objectives and follows written policies and procedures.• Maintains requirements to be privileged by the department of anesthesia rules and regulations and other certifications and competencies as required by the department.Professional Attributes• Pursues personal and professional growth through education and participation in professional organizations.• Participates in hospital committees, quality management, IOP, and teaching as needed.• Shows flexibility in all areas of performance.• Demonstrates characteristics of professional dedication to quality in communications and interactions with staff, physicians, patients, and families.• Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of service excellence. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Registered Nurse, current  Licensure in practicing state and CRNA Certification, ACLS, NRP (NALS), granted prescribing authority by State Department of Nursing. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
