Administration of all medications/immunizations, etc, will be performed only after checking two patient identifiers according to National Patient Safety Goals and HIPAA Guidelines. * Documents patient status accurately in Allscripts EMR. * Manages Tasks in Allscripts to ensure continuity of patient care. * Participates in EMR chart management to ensure chart accuracy after each visit. * Reports suspected abuse and refers patient/family to appropriate health or social resource. * Takes concise messages when answering the telephone, correctly spelling names and identifying patients by two patient identifiers according to National Patient Safety Goals and HIPAA Guidelines. * Completes referrals to specialty providers, home health, etc. in a timely manner and documents the information in IDX and Allscripts. * Gathers appropriate data to schedule appointments. Informs provider of urgent calls and appointments. * Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits and records the information in the medical records. * Completely and accurately enters all patient demographics into IDX Practice Management System in a timely manner. * Performs check-in and check-out duties courteously and timely. * Responsibilities may include posting charges and payments onto patient?s account, working with the billing office on delinquent accounts and assist in proper collection procedures. Responsible for time of service collections. * Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and neatness in the patient waiting areas. III. Accountability: Reports to the Clinic Administrator, Business Office Manager and/or Clinical Supervisor. IV. Qualifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent required (vo-tech preferred) * Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written) * Must pass pre-employment exams for Medical Assistant with a minimum score of 85% and the Patient Services Coordinator with a minimum score of 80% *Current Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program. V.
