The CNS assesses the impact of the social, political and economic forces on the delivery of care. The CNS collaborates, participates, makes decisions and has input into and supports the goals of the nursing service and/or specialty area. CNS practice spans three spheres of influence: the patient/family; the nurse/healthcare team; and the MetroHealth System. It is through these spheres that the CNS practice influences outcomes within the eight domains defined below. While the balance of the CNS practice across the three spheres may vary by specialty, the focus of the CNS practice is improvement of clinical and system outcomes. Upholds the standards of the system-wide customer service program. Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio A graduate degree with a major in a clinical area of nursing or related field, certification, and a Certificate of Authority as a Clinical Nurse Specialist from the Ohio Board of Nursing. Meets the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges as a Clinical Nurse Specialist/within The MetroHealth System and must report to Medical Staff Office to apply for clinical privileges at the time of hire Maintains privileges Preferred Qualifications: Emergency Department/Clinical Decision Unit: Master of Science in Medical/Surgical or Critical Care Nursing. Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist or Acute Care Board Certification with experience in critical care or emergency medicine. Skilled Nursing Facility: Master's of Science Degree in the specialties of Medical Surgical or Gerontological Nursing Individuals with other Masters Degree specialties may qualify if they have a strong interest in and/or background in long-term care, clinical quality improvement, program development, or gerontological nursing

Will coordinate the pacemaker clinic including: patient care in the ambulatory care setting, during hospital stay and device implants; patient education and follow-up; competency with  multi vendor pacemaker interrogation and programming; patient assessment; autonomous decision making while working with cardiologists to determine optimal pacemaker settings and adjustments; Special Procedures Lab assistance during pacemaker insertion. Applicants must be a RN and have EPS lab nursing experience with pacemaker interrogation and programming expertise and abilities along with BLS and ACLS certification. Previous Cath Lab and/or Critical Care experience preferred. ULTRASOUND TECHPRN (as needed) position available for an Ultrasound Tech. Will cover for vacation and sick time as well as participate in call coverage.
