Performs electrocardiograms per established protocols. 3. Assists physician during examination and/or visit as requested. 4. Provides phlebotomy services. 5. Provides telephone support to patients using nursing skills to assess patient needs. 6. Provides telephone response to pharmacies in connection with medication refills or questions. Communicates with physician for authorization and documents actions in patient charts. 7. Follows up pending laboratory and diagnostic test reports and provides to physician for review, including monitoring prothrombin times and subsequent anticoagulant adjustments. 8. Confirms appropriate insurance coverage for visit and/or subsequent diagnostic testing. 9. Distributes sample medication and prescriptions per physician order. 10. Provides patient teaching regarding medications, home treatments, diet and exercise as instructed by physician. 11. Cleans exam rooms after patient visits.* 12. Orders supplies.* 13.
