Major Duties:
There are currently two vacancies a full time Licensed Practical Nurses on the inpatient Mental Health unit. Duties include, but are not limited to: providing direct patient care, as well as working as part of the interdisciplinary team in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in the inpatient Mental Health setting. Must be able to work effectively with patients/families, physicians, other professionals, and support personnel in accomplishing required tasks/assignments and be able to lead groups. The tours of duty are eight hours: one full time evening shift and one full time night shift; weekend rotation required. The incumbent is under the supervision of Nurse Manager of the unit and the Director of Mental Health Service Line.
Qualifications:
All individuals applying under this announcement must meet basic qualification standards for appointment as contained in VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G13. This standard is available in the HR Liaison Office for review. Current IV certification required. One year clinical experience preferred. Candidates who meet the appropriate requirements contained in the standard will be considered.
