The LPN, Clinical Assistant , practices with minimal supervision in accordance with the CMMF Clinical Policies and Procedures, while under the direction of a Registered nurse or licensed provider,, and operates within the Maine Nurse Practice Act. The LPN, Clinical Assistant acts as the patient's advocate, manages supplies, equipment, and sophisticated instrumentation, promotes teamwork with staff, physicians, and personnel in other departments; and supports the values of CMMF. The LPN, Clinical Assistant communicates effectively with members of the health care team about changes in patient's status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with up to six (6) months Licensed Practice Nurse experience. Current LPN license within the state of practice. Current BCLS Certification. This individual needs to be able to work independently because her manager will not be in the office. She/He needs to be able to multitask. Computer experience required. Familiarity with an electronic medical record would be an asset. The responibilites during the week would include finishing up the day and taking care of any after hour patients. The weekends will require both clinical and clerical responsibilties. She will be the only staff to work with the provider. She will have to answer the phones, check patients in, room the patient for the provider and do check out. Saturdays tend to be busy and Sundays a little less hectic.
