We have a commitment to maintaining the mother-infant relationship as often as possible, and recover most of our normal newborns in mother’s room. Our excellent perinatology staff provide the opportunity for us to accept transport of high risk patients from the entire southwest region. We have developed members of our staff to provide critical care skills to patients requiring invasive hemodynamic monitoring. Our nursing staff assess patients in our 14 bed triage unit. Our staff is also cross-trained for labor, recovery, post partum and newborn care for our 40 labor rooms. In addition, our nursing staff circulate cesarean sections and fetal surgeries in our 3 surgical suites. Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center is a teaching hospital with a four year OB/GYN residency program. We have 24 hour anesthesia coverage including anesthesiologists and CRNA’s.  Coverage is for 12 hour shifts - night and day coverage.
