The Unit Leader will support, encourage, coach, mentor, instruct, correct, observe and evaluate the performance of the nursing staff in the memory care unit. Additional responsibilities will include daily rounds, complaint resolution, resident/family interactions, providing interdisciplinary team direction and interaction, and risk management issues. The Unit Leader will represent their Unit at care center meetings as designated by the Director of Nursing.Qualifications: A current, valid and unrestricted nurse license in the State of Michigan.Two (2) to five (5) years experience in a skilled rehabilitation or long-term care facility with progressive management responsibilities. Previous supervisory experience preferred.Experience in a person centered care environment. Demonstrate a passion for providing excellent care to residents.Must possess strong psychosocial skills and be able to interact effectively with residents, staff, families and visitors.Possess special interest in, and a positive attitude about working with long-term care residents and staff.Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.Proficient in computer use, particularly Microsoft Office programs and Outlook.
