Patients served on the pediatric unit are predominately pediatric patients from birth to 18 years of age. The services on the pediatric unit include nursing care of the acute care inpatient and observation of short or extended stay inpatients. Patients served on the Perinatal Unit include normal and high -risk adult and adolescent maternity patients and neonates. Patients may also include medical and post-surgical care. The services on the prenatal unit include nursing care of the antepartum, postpartum, newborn, and NICU inpatient, observation, and OB check patients. The most frequent diagnosis includes but are not limited to those related to pregnancy and the neonate. The Unit Manager works under the supervision of the Nursing Director. The Unit Manager will utilize critical thinking to support decision making in relation to clinical issues.
