Bachelor's degree or  higher in a health-related field (such as nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, medical social work, vocational rehabilitation or counseling) preferred ¿Certification is recommended and professionally encouraged.  Approved certifications included Certified Case Manager (CCM), Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS), Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN), Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) or Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). Key Requirements: Must have two years experience. Nursing experience in podiatry is preferred. U.S. Citizenship Licensure, Certification, or Registration required. Major Duties: Announcement does not cover all the duties/responsibilities of the position.  The incumbent practices as an LPN in the Podiatry clinic.  The clinic provides outpatient care to patients who require podiatric medical treatment and potential podiatric surgery.  The LPN will be required to perform routine and diabetic foot examinations and care under the supervision of the RN and DPM.  Primary to his/her duties will be routine toenail and callus debridement.  Will be required to provide and assist with foot wound care including minor superficial debridements, placement of grafts and dressing changes.  Will assist in minor podiatric procedures including soft tissue mass excisions, toenail avulsion/ablations, injections and removal of sutures.  May be required to apply various lower extremity casts.  Ensures the podiatry rooms are fully stocked with appropriate instrumentation and materials as needed.  Qualifications: BASIC REQUIREMENTS: U.S. Citizenship. Graduate of a school or practical nursing or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate State accrediting agency and/or the National League for Nursing at the time the program was completed by the applicant. Full, active, current and unrestricted license as a licensed practical or vocational nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or District of Columbia. Meet physical standards for employment. Proficient in written/spoken English.  In addition to meeting the above requirements, must have completed two years of qualifying experience.  Must have the knowledge and skill necessary for concentrated effort and self direction in carrying out the most complex practical nursing care assignments, including assignments for selected acute care, long-term or ambulatory care, or psychiatric patients requiring skilled nursing care.  Serves as a member of a health care team with these selected patients and provides care to them on a regular and recurring basis.  Completes assigned duties and responsibilities which involve performing nonstandard and specialized practical nursing activities requiring broad work experience and demonstrated skill sufficient to resolve a range of nursing problems.  To qualify based on education, submit copy of transcript or list of courses with credit hours, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking.
