JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1 Assures the availability of patient care personnel competent to meet patient care requirements. Participates in patient care when needed.
2 Problem solves and performs follow-up activities to respond to and resolve complex situations that arise with:

c. Management staff in nursing and other departments as appropriate
d. Other healthcare facilities

3 Develops, implements, and maintains patient care delivery system to assure the provision of quality patient care by the appropriate mix of licensed and non-licensed staff members. Continually evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of patient care delivery.
4 Participates in unit-based and system-wide quality improvement activities. Participates in professional and educational activities.
5 Performs analysis of patient requirements for care, and of staff ability to meet patient care needs at least annually. Fosters staff development by assuring that needed skills are obtained.
6 Develops and maintains effective working relationships with administrative personnel, physicians & other Health System staff members; with patient and significant others.
7 Communicates effectively with Health System personnel to share pertinent data, improve patient care processes, and improve the quality of care delivered.
8 Supports policies and procedures; participates in writing, reviewing, and/or revising as needed.
9 Observes universal precautions consistently. Wears proper protective equipment when appropriate.
Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM REQUIRED
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. ADN required.
Licensure: Current RN licensure with Arkansas Board of Nursing or current
RN Arkansas temporary license.
Experience: Five years experience in a hospital setting. Previous management/leadership experience is required.
Certification/Registration: CPR, ACLS

Qualifications

Actively seeks up-to -date information and resources related to national hospital quality measures to ensure promotion of compliance with best practice guidelines in cardiology, CV surgery, trauma, and neurology.
2 Completes timely and accurate data abstraction and meets all data submission dates. Stays current on all benchmarking resources, and best practice related to the measures. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide meaningful statistical reports on quality measure data. Identifies trends in non-compliance with measures and follows up with Performance Management Director and quality committees to improve performance.
3 Performs concurrent review of patient records identified with diagnosis involving measures of quality and follows up with physicians and co-workers when gaps in compliance are identified. Maintains own current knowledge within the specialty area with strong working knowledge of assigned protocols and associated processes and physician practice patterns.
