Job Title: CARDIOVASCULAR TECH PRN Company: Tenet Health Location: Sanford, NC Description: Performs objective and subjective noninvasive tests to assess the peripheral arterial, peripheral venous and/or cerebrovascular and the cardiac system. The vascular technologist recognizes signs and symptoms of acute and chronic vascular disease and is familiar with appropriate medical and surgical intervention and the expected outcome. Based on the patient assessment, the vascular technologist selects the appropriate and cost-effective procedure(s) to evaluate the patient. The vascular technologist is knowledgeable in regard to indications, contraindications, capabilities, and limitations of the noninvasive tests. The vascular technologist renders at least a preliminary interpretation of the test results and can explain the findings to the referring physician. This explanation may include information regarding the capabilities and limitations of the particular test. The vascular technologist recognizes the importance of correlating test results with the gold standard and institutes appropriate quality control measures. The vascular technologist works under the supervision of the Director of Cardiopulmonary services and a Medical Director with expertise in this service.
