We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our client's Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) team in Midland, MI. This full-time Cardiac Surgery RN position is ideal for a nurse with open-heart surgery experience who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment.

This is a critical-care nursing role supporting complex cardiothoracic and open-heart procedures—including CABG, valve replacements, and other advanced cardiac surgeries—alongside a highly skilled surgical team.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-, intra-, and post-operative nursing care to open-heart and cardiovascular surgery patients.
• Assist with CABG, valve repair/replacement, and other cardiac surgical procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field and adhere to strict patient safety protocols.
• Support anesthesia services and prepare specialized surgical equipment.
• Coordinate activities of the surgical team to ensure timely and efficient workflow in the OR.
• Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to OR staff.
• Document care accurately and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to staff training, preceptorship, and continuing education.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Michigan or a compact state (required).
• Associate’s degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR nursing experience with open-heart surgery.
• BLS certification (required) or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Strong critical-thinking, leadership, and communication skills.
