We are hiring for a Part Time civilian Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L/D RN) to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our veterans and their families at Naval Hospital Oak Harbor in beautiful Washington state. Oak Harbor is located on gorgeous Whidbey Island, a short drive to Seattle or a beautiful scenic ride by ferry.  

We are offering a highly competitive hourly compensation which includes benefits with medical, dental, vision, and 401k plans. Continuing education is another benefit of working for Matrix Providers.


• Schedule: Part Time  No Call - Guaranteed hours

• Shifts include: 2 L/D RNs, 1 Postpartum RN, 1 LPN, 1 Hospital Corpsman, and 1 Surgical Technician

• 20 - 25 Deliveries monthly

The Labor and Delivery RN must have the following qualifications:

• 2-3 years RN experience as an RN, with 1 year L/D experience w/in the last 3 years

• Couplet Care and Circulating experience in Operating Room

• Active L/D RN license from any state or territory of the US

• ACLS, NRP and basic Fetal Monitoring certifications

• This position does not require a WA state license. 

A summary of the Labor and Delivery RN's work responsibilities are:

• Providing maternal Infant Unit (MIU) professional nursing care in support of the Naval Hospital Women's Health Service at Naval Medical Hospital / Oak Harbor.  The team member will enjoy working directly with selected patients and a families to develop nursing care plans and collaborating with other health care disciplines to provide total quality care. 

• Functioning as the care coordinator, the RN assures all aspects of patient care needs are met including assessment, intervention, and follow-up.  They will be responsible for obtaining and documenting pertinent family history with patients and orienting new patients and families as required. The RN will arrange for ordered diagnostic and therapeutic services as directed. They will administer immunizations, allergy treatments, oral, parenteral, and IV medications at designated times and in designated manner.

• They will be responsible for charting nursing observations and ensure record is complete with all procedures and test results recorded. The RN will maintain required clinic records, patient charts, forms, logs, records, registers, and census reports and collects required statistics. - This is not a full list of responsibilities.
