A-Team Solutions is seeking (2) two (Travel or Local) Catheterization RN’s for full time position contract at a local facility in Palo Alto, CA.

The cardiac catheterization RN will participate as an integral team member to the multi-disciplinary cardiac catheterization team. The Catheterization RN will assist with equipment and provide any necessary support to the cardiologist during catheterization, trans-aortic value replacement (TAVR) and electrophysiology (EP) procedures. Additionally Catheterization RN will monitor patient status during pre and post procedure. The Catheterization RN will administer and monitor medications administered to the patient. Providing the duties and responsibilities associated with all cardiac catheterization/Trans-aortic valve replacement (TAVR)/electrophysiology procedures and adhering to all Joint Commission and safety standards.

a. Circulate, assist, and operate equipment with all of the various cardiac cath/TAVR/EP lab procedures and Echo Lab procedures.
b. Monitor patients during Cath/EP procedures, including continuous ECG and hemodynamic monitoring, identification of cardiac, arrhythmias, response to medications and treatments.
c. Document patient date during the procedures in CPRS and maintain the procedure prolog in MacLab.
d. Administer medications, including ACLS medications and anticoagulants, including moderate sedation with appropriate patient monitoring, assessment, and documentation.
e. Be able to operate complex radiographic, angiographic, and digital recording equipment while maintaining radiation safety principles.
f. Conduct quality control procedures on equipment.
g. Participate in sheath removal post-procedures.
h. Maintain knowledge of the IABP, functions of a transvenous pacemaker, and new technological equipment added to the Cath Lab.
i. Transport patients post procedure.
j. Utilizes VA’s electronic medical record for all patient care documentation, including the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS)
k. Completes required clinical and medical record documentation within the timeframe required by the Joint Commission and Veterans Health Administrations
• Current, valid, and unrestricted state license for Registered Nurse
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificates

b. Experience Required:
• A minimum of two (2) years of intensive care experience
• A minimum of three (3) years of catheterization laboratory experience including demonstrated competence and excellence in advanced nursing skills, electro cardio graph (ECG) monitoring skills, hemodynamics, and performance in emergency situations, patient teaching, and patient/family communication.

c. Preferred Experience:
• Previous VA experience
• Knowledge of the VA electronic medical record (CPRS)
