Job Summary and QualificationsAs an RN Infection Control you will be responsible for coordinating the Infection Control Program. At our facility you will find out what it truly means to be a part of a collaborative team. In this role:
- You will collect, trends and measures pertinent data, concurrently and retrospectively, on hospital-acquired infections.
- You will review, detect and investigate infections accurately. You will submit accurate data and reports are timely to appropriate areas.

- You will facilitate prevention/ resolution in infections to reduce nosocomial risks including asepsis, isolation, PPE, and sanitation techniques. Develops and provides education related to policies and procedures.
- You will analyze care provided from patient medical records and write case summaries.
- You will report Infection Control data to appropriate areas and conducts studies as designated by facility need, regulation, and Infection Control Committee. Effectively reporting to Medical and hospital staff and committees with studies/data relevant to Infection Control management and improvement
- You will report Infection Control data to NHSN per CDC guidelines and CMS public reporting. Investigates root cause of healthcare acquired infections (HAIs). Accurate and timely Streetwise reporting as required.
- You will assist in the investigation and verification of HAC's related to infections.
- You will collaborate with Quality and Risk in HAC occurrence investigation and coding accuracy, and root cause analysis process.
- Requires a State of Utah RN licensure in nursing required; RN Compact license within 90 days of becoming a resident of the new state.
- Associate Degree Nursing required; BSN preferred.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
- Infection Control experience in a healthcare setting, or minimum 3 years Operating Room or ICU experience.
- Minimum of 5 years health care experience (clinical experience preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years experience in clinical quality improvement, infection control or related positions preferred.
- Supervisory and/or management experience preferred.
- Comfortable and skilled at working with physicians, health care providers and other stakeholders in the organization.
- Knowledge of PC based computer software, i.e. Word, Excel, Access and/or similar systems preferred.
- Experience in working with teams in a complex organization.
