Here are the Details -

Position: Corporate Nurse Educator

Schedule: Varies, Travel is up to 75%

Responsibilities:

• Support the training and education for new and existing staff

• Assist in the development of new and/or existing clinical competencies and training for staff

• Participate in new staff post-orientation validation competencies and tests

• Tracking staffs completed trainings, competency, and/or testing, as applicable, to ensure training plan completed as expected, while at site

• Assist site leadership team with annual competencies, ongoing training and educational initiatives needed at the site-level

• Conduct site audits of policies and procedures and clinical practices

• Assist with Continuous Quality Improvement activities as needed

• Serve as a mentor to staff, and identify growth opportunities and educational needs

• Promote critical thinking among nurses, and show commitment to professional development and lifelong learning

• Maintain current knowledge of trends in area of expertise

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited registered nursing program; BSN degree preferred

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with correctional experience required, educational / teaching experience strongly desired

• Active multi-state registered nursing license required

• Minimum three (3) years of experience required, prefer at least one (1) year in corrections

• Current CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross guideline approved)

• Requires travel to MEDIKO contracted facilities and to Corporate Office in VA
