Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Clinic LPN for a 13-week travel assignment in Thomasville, North Carolina. Required Qualifications:
  • One year of recent outpatient clinic LPN experience
  • Valid LPN license in compliance with state regulation
  • Current BLS (AHA/ARC) or CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Summary:

The Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides hands-on patient care in an outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting. Clinic LPNs help with patient assessments, give medications, provide treatments, and keep the clinic running smoothly to ensure patients receive quality care. They play a key role in coordinating care, educating patients about their health, and keeping accurate medical records, all while following safety guidelines and healthcare regulations.

Essential Work Functions:
  • Conduct patient assessments, take vital signs, administer medications, and perform wound care or other clinical treatments
  • Perform routine procedures such as injections, basic wound care, and specimen collection
  • Accurately document patient interactions, treatment plans, and test results in patient health record
  • Educate patients on medication use, treatment plans, and preventive care, ensuring patients understand their care
  • Respond to basic patient inquiries via phone or patient portal
  • Effectively manage multiple patients and tasks in a fast-paced clinic setting while prioritizing patient needs
  • Work closely with RNs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care efficiently
  • Coordinate patient care and follow-up appointments, ensuring continuity of care
  • Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and clinical protocols to maintain a safe and clean healthcare environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Required Essential Skills:
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
  • Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
  • Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
  • Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
