Piedmont Eastside, PRN Nights

This 18-bed cardiac unit specializes in the care of both cardiac
and vascular patients. The typical patient population found in the CCU includes
patients with diagnosis such as chest pain, cardiac dysrhythmias, CHF
exacerbation, hypertensive emergency, AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy and
pulmonary embolism. Our unit is a hybrid unit and consists of acute,
intermediate, and intensive level of care patients. Our nursing staff consists of
both tele and ICU nurses. The nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:4 when caring
for non-ICU patients and 1:2 (sometimes 1:3) when caring for ICU patients. Our
ICU nurses may experience a 1:1 patient ratio when handling the higher acuity
patients that are on devices such as CRRT, IABP, and Impella. Our nursing staff
works closely with our cardiologists and vascular surgeons along with their teams
to provide exceptional patient care. If you are interested in working with a

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The Patient Care Tech, under the supervision of licensed clinical staff, provides care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, demonstrating competency with treatments, procedures and equipment appropriate to the clinical setting and hospital policy.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High school graduate or equivalent

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Entry Level

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
N/A

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Certification from a Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician program preferred
One year of patient care experience preferred
