Job Summary and Qualifications

Receives direct supervisor from PHP Program Manager. Has a working knowledge of nursing documentation and processes that occur int he inpatient behavioral health unit. Under general supervisor, provides all required services of a nurse in a psychiatric partial hospitalization setting including but not limited to receiving and documenting physician orders, completing nursing assessments and conducting educational and support groups.

What you will do in this role:

  • Performs and documents complete nursing and safety assessment of psychiatric and dual diagnosis patients.
  • Implements appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings. Evaluates patient's response to interventions and modifies plan of care.
  • Demonstrates ability to facilitate didactic groups pertinent to population, prepares discharge planning with patient, in addition to properly documenting patient progress and obstacles and provides information effectively in interdisciplinary team.
  • Uses knowledge of appropriate resources and demonstrates ability to meet educational needs of patient and family through resources while maintaining patient confidentiality, patient rights and release of information.
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with all clients. Exemplifies organizational mission and vision by role modeling a commitment to the delivery of high quality care and a commitment to coworkers.
  • Works effectively with all members of the healthcare team to assure the delivery of comprehensive quality care to all patients.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to other members of the healthcare team in the provision of patient care.
  • Seeks continuing education through participation in education programs and professional activities.
  • Actively applies methos to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care or the services delivered. Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system. Uses system to report potential safety issues. Attends in-service presentations, and completes mandatory education, including but not limited to: Infection control, patient safety, quality improvement, SDS, and OSHA standards.
  • Assists with prior authorization for services, ensures that registration process is complete, and completes utilization review in a timely manner.
  • Assists patients to manager their medication in accordance with PHP policies and guidelines.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Current Idaho (RN) Registered Nurse license; compact accepted but must obtain Idaho RN license within 90 days of date of hire.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience working with behavioral health patients. Experience with chemical dependency preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
