Summary:
This position provides leadership to an assigned area of responsibility, e.g., Acute Care Services, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Services, Perioperative Services, etc. The incumbent is accountable for the clinical, operational, and fiscal performance of the assigned unit(s)/team(s). This position oversees the execution of short- and long-term strategies to support organizational goals pertinent to the assigned market, establishes and ensures compliance with standards of clinical care, and maintains accountability for staffing, quality, safety, service and clinical excellence. The incumbent assists clinical managers and team leaders with evidenced based leadership, supports Magnet activities, supports nursing professional practice, collaborates with physician partners and responds to any patient or physicians complaints in an administrative leadership role. The incumbent makes recommendations regarding policies associated with the units, manages business operations, facilitates process improvement, implements cost containment strategies, and assists with team member education and professional growth.

* Physician/staff problem resolution
* Respond to e-mail/voicemail requests
* Respond to patient/family satisfaction and/or grievances
* Respond to physician disruptive behavior
* Engage in peer/physician relationship building
* Patient experience
* Accountability for Performance Improvement Programs
* Oversight of Performance Improvement Facilitation
* Creation, review, revision, of policies and procedures
* Regulatory readiness preparations
* Accountability for financial objectives:
* Coordinate budget development with senior nursing leadership
* Review, analyze, justify financial performance with senior nursing leadership
* Coach leadership team on utilization/resource management
* Vendor representative relations

WORK EXPERIENCE
* At least 5 years clinical experience (pediatric nursing preferred) Req
* At least 5 years prior experience of people management within nursing Req
EDUCATION
* Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Bachelor of Nursing Req
* Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Req
* Master's in Nursing or Healthcare Administration Pref
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* License to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas Upon Hire Req
