Job Summary and Qualifications

Directs and redirects team assignments as needed throughout shift

Assist new employees, assigned employees, and cross training employees toward their orientation goals

Serve as a resource to staff for solving clinical problems.

Assist staff to efficiently utilize staffing resources to meet patient care requirements and other professional responsibilities.

Act as a resource in identifying and/or solving administrative/operational problems.

Anticipate actual/potential problems that may occur on their shift and sets shift priorities accordingly.

Work collaboratively with nursing and ancillary staff to solve problems in a fair, consistent manner.

Give ongoing timely feedback to staff on performance.

Collaborate with the nurse manager or director regarding staff performance

Assist in the preparation and implementation of the annual goals for the department.

Keep professionally current, by attending continuing education programs, seminars, workshops, and/or independent research reading.

Develop and implement staffing plan for shift based on patient acuity, patient census and available staff.

Directs and redirects team assignments as needed throughout shift

Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families

Monitors all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors

Demonstrates knowledge of medications and medication effects based on age of the patient and their clinical condition provides guidance to staff on ongoing basis as needed.

Reassesses patients systematically to identify outcomes of care and identifies needs that require intervention

Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development over the life span and provides age appropriate care to the patient population served

Interprets data about the patients status in order to identify each patients age specific needs and provides care needed by the patient group

Evaluates outcomes of care as indicated by the patients response to treatment, revises plan of care, and sets priorities for care

Works collaboratively with treatment team to assure appropriate utilization of services and to plan for post discharge needs.

What qualifications you will need:

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
