The team provides patient care and supportive services that are directed toward the achievement of quality patient care outcomes, improvement of service levels, reduction in length of hospitalizations and reduction of cost.Position SummaryThe CRNA is a registered, professional advanced practice nurse who demonstrates excellence in all areas of anesthesia practice including but not limited to anesthesia case management, staff education and clinical research. The CRNA manages complex, unpredictable anesthesia situations. The CRNA must be competent in technical, cognitive and interpersonal skills required to serve those patients receiving anesthesia care and services. The CRNA is expected to practice within the established Medical Center, anesthesia, and nursing standards of practice (policies, procedures, protocols), and adhere to the Intensive Caring Value Statements. The CRNA works as a member of the patient care team and collaborates with an MDA in the anesthetic care of each and every patient.Minimum Education RequiredBachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceRequired QualificationsGraduate of an accredited school of nursing and a graduate of an accredited school of nurse anesthesia (18month or 24month program) Current Ohio RN licensure and also current Ohio Certificate of Authority as a CRNA. Current certification by the Council of Certification of Nurse Anesthetists (CCNA). Current ACLS certification. Must be eligible to obtain clinical privileges as designated by the OSUMC Corporate Credentialing Office.
