Within the Trauma Program and Emergency Department, the RN Manager Trauma Services will help lead a Trauma Unit purpose-built for speed and precision. This department features a Trauma Unit integrated with the Emergency Department and closely aligned to critical care and surgical services, and it is defined by a Trauma Program that is deeply connected to EMS and community partners. This high-volume emergency department serves as a critical trauma hub for a rural, diverse population. While the emergency services department is a 45-bed unit that offers around-the-clock care, it is important to distinguish this location serves its community with a focus on high-acuity, rapid response, and community-level trauma care. The RN Manager Trauma Services will drive performance in rapid triage, resuscitation, and transitions of care, while elevating throughput, safety, and patient-centered outcomes across the Emergency Department and Trauma Program. The Nursing Manager Trauma will report to the Trauma Program and Emergency Services Director and Chief Nursing Officer, supported by experienced trauma registrars, a Performance Improvement/Patient Safety coordinator, clinical educators, data analysts, and dedicated administrative support. As a Trauma Nurse Manager, core responsibilities include 24/7 operational leadership, staffing and scheduling, budgeting and resource stewardship, accreditation and survey readiness, trauma registry oversight, PI initiatives, policy and pathway optimization, interprofessional education, EMS and community liaison work, disaster preparedness, and collaborative rounds with surgery, anesthesia, ICU, orthopedics, imaging, lab, pharmacy, and care management; friendly nurses and a diverse healthcare professional team create a Just Culture environment where the Nursing Manager Trauma fosters engagement, recognition, and continuous improvement.
