Highly specialist knowledge and advanced skills are required in order to assess the physical, psychological and social needs of patients following admission. The candidate will be part of an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) team on a rota covering all aspects of trauma and orthopaedics. Main duties of the job Work effectively and resourcefully by coordinating the clinical care of patients and implementing clinical decisions made by the consultant. Use expert knowledge and clinical judgement to determine the need for investigations and make initial diagnoses. Act as an interface between medical practitioners, nursing staff, the multidisciplinary team, patients and their carers. Provide specialist advice to nursing and medical staff when required. Deliver ACPled clinicsboth virtual and facetofacewithin the outpatient setting, including advanced assessment, clinical examination, referral for investigations, and completion of clinical records. Person specification EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING Essential criteria Registered Nurse Evidence of teaching in the clinical environment Desirable criteria Post registration qualification in an appropriate area of speciality (orthopaedics) at master's level or equivalent IRMER Training Leadership qualification or evidence of formal training SKILLS & ABILITIES Essential criteria Evidence of ability to practice as an expert, independent practitioner; to work autonomously without supervision. Leadership skills demonstrating ability to influence and negotiate successful outcomes. Ability to identify and apply at all levels appropriate and responsive communication mechanisms. Proven ability to manage and work effectively as part of multidisciplinary team Evidence of an ability to manage workload effectively, maximising on the utilisation of available resources.
