Position Summary

The Manager Nursing & Clinical Education leads and oversees the Nursing Professional Development team and simulation coordinator to deliver high-quality education, training, and professional growth opportunities across inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings, as well as simulation and other clinical environments. This role ensures alignment with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and best practices to support clinical excellence across the continuum of care.

Responsibilities

  • Leads, mentors, and manages staff across diverse areas including but not limited to ambulatory care, simulation training, clinical education, and certification coordination
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates comprehensive educational programs and professional development initiatives that enhance nursing practice and patient care outcomes
  • Collaborates with clinical leaders and interdisciplinary teams to assess learning needs and identify opportunities for staff development
  • Oversees simulation-based education activities, ensuring fidelity to clinical scenarios and best practices in adult learning
  • Managers performance, professional growth, and development through coaching, feedback, and evaluation
  • Facilitates resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling to optimize operations
  • Utilities data and feedback to continuously improve educational programs and professional development strategies
  • Promotes a culture of lifelong learning, professional growth, and evidence-based practice within the nursing workforce
  • Serves as a key liaison between nursing leadership, education, and other departments to support integrated workforce development
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

  • State of Idaho Registered Nurse OR licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multistate privilege to practice" compact with Idaho prior to start date
  • Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program required
  • BSN required; MSN preferred
  • Minimum 4 years' nursing experience required; direct patient care experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' leadership experience required
  • Specialty nursing certification preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to foster collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to needles, blood and body fluids, etc.
  • Must be able to assist in patient transfer
  • Must be able to maintain a standing position
  • Must be able to reach arms above or below shoulder height
  • Typical equipment used in a clinical job
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 10 lbs
