Job Title: Student Caregiver/Aide
Reports to: Campus Principal
Location: In-Person, CASLV Nellis Campus- Las Vegas, NV
Position Type: Full-Time, 10-Month (School Year)
Position Summary
The Student Caregiver provides direct support to students with specialized physical, medical, and/or behavioral needs to ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. This role assists students with daily living activities, mobility, and personal care while working collaboratively with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student success and well-being.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Student Support & Care
Provide direct one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs
Assist with activities of daily living, including toileting, feeding, hygiene, and mobility
Support students during transitions, classroom activities, and school routines
Implement teacher-directed instructional and behavioral support strategies
Health & Safety
Follow student-specific care plans, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and behavior plans
Assist with monitoring student health needs and report concerns to appropriate staff
Maintain a safe and clean environment for students
Support emergency procedures and respond appropriately to student needs
Behavioral Support
Assist in implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
Support de-escalation strategies and maintain a calm, structured environment
Reinforce positive behavior and support social-emotional development
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with teachers, special education staff, nurses, and therapists
Communicate effectively with staff regarding student progress and needs
Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with regulations
Other Duties
Assist with classroom setup, materials preparation, and general support tasks
Participate in training related to student care, safety, and compliance
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to work with students with diverse learning and physical needs
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to follow directions and implement support plans
Ability to lift, move, or assist students as needed
Preferred:
Experience working with children or individuals with special needs
CPR and First Aid certification
Training in behavior management or crisis intervention (e.g., CPI)
Bilingual or multilingual abilities
