City/State Suffolk, VA Work Shift Third (Nights) Overview: Additional Job Description Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for a full-time, night shift position in Suffolk, VA on our Medicine Unit! Hours: 7PM to 7AM. Three 12-hour shifts (36-hours per week), with rotating weekends. Department/Position Overview: Join a unit known for its great teamwork! This general medicine unit has great engagement within the nursing team, and the patient population is medical patients. Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse. Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any change to the nursing. Education: HS - High School Grad or Equivalent One of the following programs: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School, Emergency Services to include EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic, or current student enrolled in a clinical program having completed at least one semester of a (RN, LPN, RT or PT) or current work experience within last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant. Certifications/Licensure: AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire. Education: One year of health care experience is preferred.
