The Household Caregiver provides compassionate in-home support for two elderly adults, ensuring their safety, comfort, and overall well-being within a private residence. This role combines personal care assistance, household management, transportation, and daily oversight to maintain a stable, organized, and supportive home environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, detail-oriented and committed to providing high-quality care with discretion and respect.
ResponsibilitiesPersonal Care & Daily Support
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, dressing, mobility, toileting, and transfers
- Provide medication reminders and support established care routines
- Monitor and communicate changes in physical, cognitive, or emotional condition to family members as appropriate
- Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support throughout daily routines
- Assist with prescribed mobility or physical therapy exercises when needed
Health & Safety
- Maintain a safe home environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards
- Ensure medical and mobility equipment is clean and functioning properly
- Observe and document health or household concerns and communicate updates promptly
- Coordinate with family members, healthcare providers, or other caregivers as needed
Household Management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary living environment
- Prepare meals and snacks according to dietary needs and preferences
- Manage laundry, linens, and household supplies
- Assist with basic pet care
Transportation & Errands
- Provide safe transportation using a provided household vehicle for medical appointments, therapy sessions, grocery shopping, pharmacy pickups, and other essential errands
- Assist clients safely during outings
Communication & Coordination
- Maintain clear, professional communication regarding daily activities, routines, and concerns
- Help coordinate appointments, schedules, and household needs
- Document relevant observation to support continuity of care
- Collaborate effectively with family members and other service providers
- Female caregiver preferred due to personal care needs and client privacy considerations
- Prior experience in caregiving, senior care, home health, household management preferred
- Ability to safely assist with mobility and transfers
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Progressional discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable in a dynamic home environment
Schedule
- Approximately 40 hours per week
- Weekends off
- Schedule flexibility may occasionally be required based on client needs
Physical Requirements
- Ability to assist with lifting, transfers, and mobility support
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform household tasks for extended periods
Compensation
- Competitive pay paid bi-weekly based on experience and responsibilities
- Living accommodations provided within the residence
