Outpatient Nurse Coordinator - General Internal Medicine (UPMC Presbyterian) UPMC Presbyterian is seeking a dedicated and experienced nursing professional to join our General Internal Medicine Team as an Outpatient Nurse Coordinator. Schedule: Monday-Friday, daylight hours, four 10-hour shifts, work from home once orientation is completed About the Position: a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } This role functions as a standard outpatient coordinator position, responsible for managing patient concerns, answering and triaging incoming calls and messages, and supporting overall clinic operations. Additional responsibilities include reviewing laboratory and imaging results with providers, communicating care recommendations to patients, coordinating incoming and outgoing patient communication, and actively participating in ongoing professional development. The ideal candidate is detailoriented, compassionate, and committed to fostering a safe, collaborative, and patientcentered care environment. This position supports clinic coverage, daily operations, and direct patient care to ensure seamless continuity across service areas. Responsibilities : Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in shared governance and quality initiatives. Provide leadership within the practice, supporting nursing and support staff and maintaining a safe, effective care environment. Deliver holistic, patientcentered care, including triage, care coordination, education, and followup. Serve as primary nursing resource and liaison for patient caseload, coordinating with physicians and external services. Build positive, collaborative relationships with patients, families, and all care team members. Demonstrate strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills. Support department operations, safety, regulatory preparation, and practice improvements. Educate patients, families, students, and new staff; may precept and assist with staff development. Promote a compassionate, patientfocused experience and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
