QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certified as a CNA in good standing with the Maryland Board of Nursing.
Current CPR certification.
2 years' experience as a CNA in pediatric or adolescent health care is preferred.
Position requires training in Certified Medication Technician School Health within six months of employment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the school RN:
Provide routine care for minor and acute illnesses and chronic disorders.
Provide immediate care for accidents and injuries ranging from minor to life threatening.
Assist with hearing and vision screenings in assigned schools as well as other schools upon request.
Assist with prevention and control of communicable diseases.
Administer and record medications and specific treatments as ordered by physician. Observe for medication/treatment side effects and report to school nurse.
Assist in managing lice control efforts.
Assist with record keeping, report preparation, and inventory of health supplies.
Other job-related duties as assigned.
