The Staffing Scheduler for Nursing Services will be responsible for the design and implementation of staffing patterns.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assists in recordkeeping and documentation of attendance and tardiness
Reviews complaints and grievances pertinent to scheduling and staffing and make necessary oral and/or written reports to the Staff Coordinator
Duties/Responsibilities:
Establishes staffing patterns and schedules for nurses and nursing assistants
Works with human resources/recruiting to advise them of staffing needs, terminations, and other information necessary for the smooth flow of work regarding employees
Maintains the scheduling system for bi-weekly payroll
Assists employees in accurate completion of forms pertinent to scheduling and staffing, including timecards, time off requests and leave of absence paperwork
Assists in securing staff for absences, leaves, etc., adjusting schedules as required.
Maintains records on vacations, sick leave, leaves of absence, holidays, excused and unexcused absences, and recommends appropriate action
Documents employee calls regarding staffing and scheduling functions
Acts as a back up for Staff Coordinator role
Additional duties as assigned
QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities:
Must possess sensitivity in understanding employees' needs while maintaining a sense of balance to ensure that staffing requirements are met for the facility
Good typing and Mathematics Skills
Education and Experience:
High school education or GED equivalent required with college-level training preferred
