Novant Health Neurology & Sleep - Marvin Creek is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)!

Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm, Friday 8:00am-12:00pm

The role of the CMA is to coordinate and assist a newly joining epileptologist to ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective care for the practice population
What You'll Do

Job responsibilities include:

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs
  • Assist with medical preparation and medication administration
  • Process prescription refills
  • Complete some prior authorizations
  • Provide patient education on care and treatment plans
  • Complete and process FMLA paperwork accurately and efficiently

What We're Looking For

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
    • Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
  • Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
  • Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
