MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : \n

Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing -AND- three (3) years' responsible experience in nursing activities; \n

  • OR- \n

Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing -AND- a Master degree in Public Health, Nursing, Health Administration, Human Services or Public Administration -AND- two (2) years' responsible experience in nursing activities. \n

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS : \n

Must be registered as a nurse in the State of Michigan or possess a temporary permit pending final registration. \n

Must possess a valid Michigan driver's license and the use of a vehicle during working hours. \n

JOB SUMMARY: Performs professional duties involving the planning, coordination, development and implementation of personal and community health programs under the direction of a Division Director; assists in the monitoring and evaluation of program activities; supervises and trains subordinate employees; performs related duties as required. \n

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: \n

\n

  • Supervises nursing and other assigned staff in delivery of personal and community services; \n
  • Plans for area and program needs and communicates same to Division Director; \n
  • Compiles and interprets statistics on personal and\/or community health needs of the community, in relation to programs supervised or directed; \n
  • Keeps abreast of state laws, local ordinances, County procedures and policies, contracts, department policies and procedures as they relate to personal and\/or community health activities; \n
  • Monitors and evaluates status of all programs and prepares necessary reports; \n
  • Participates in the preparation of program budgets and review of expenditure reports; \n
  • Makes presentations and meets with outside groups and organizations regarding program and public health concerns; \n
  • Prepares newspaper articles and other information for dissemination to the public; \n
  • Provides input into program goals, projected outputs, and is responsible for supervising staff to meet these goals; \n
  • Provides nursing input into policies and procedures and public health programs. \n \n
