Introduction THIS RECRUITMENT IS LIMITED TO CURRENT EMPLOYEES OF THE MDH EASTERN SHORE HOSPITAL CENTER ONLY\r\n GRADE 26\r\n LOCATION OF POSITION MDH Eastern Shore Hospital Center, Cambridge MD\r\n Main Purpose of Job The Director of Nursing at Eastern Shore is responsible for promoting quality by incorporating current nursing research findings, nationally recognized professional standards and other expert literature into policies and procedures governing the provision of nursing care, treatment, and services provided by the nursing department. This position does not work 'in count' (providing direct nursing care to patients) unless it is an emergency as deemed by the hospital's CEO and or COO. Job performance is consistent with the Eastern Shore Hospital Center's Mission and Vision.\r\n MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Qualified applicants must possess a master's degree in a nursing related field from an accredited college or university and five years of psychiatric nursing experience (as a registered nurse) of which at least three years must have been in a supervisory, teaching or administrative capacity. Qualified candidates must possess a license as a Registered Nurse by the Maryland Board of Nursing. A copy of your current RN license must accompany application.\r\n\r\n\r\nA bachelor's degree in nursing or related field from an accredited college or university, together with seven years of psychiatric nursing experience (as a registered nurse) of which at least five years must have been in a supervisory, teaching or administrative capacity is also qualifying. A Ph.D. in nursing from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two years of general experience.\r\n DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Desired candidates should possess the following:\r\n\r\n\r\n Knowledge of and experience with Board of Nursing requirements, policies and regulations\r\n Experience educating and mentoring nursing staff to empower a nursing department\r\n Experience working in a State Psychiatric Hospital\r\n\r\n\r\n LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION THIS RECRUITMENT IS LIMITED TO CURRENT EMPLOYEES OF THE MDH EASTERN SHORE HOSPITAL CENTER ONLY\r\n LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS Employees in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.
