A rewarding opportunity is available for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) interested in behavioral health at a psychiatric hospital. This 26-week contract assignment is designed for reliable, compassionate professionals who can deliver safe, therapeutic care within a secure inpatient setting. You will play a vital role in supporting patients undergoing psychiatric and behavioral health treatment, working collaboratively with a dedicated clinical team.

Schedule:

  • 3648 hours per week depending on unit needs
  • Day shifts: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
  • Night shifts: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
  • Overtime may be available but is not guaranteed

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care under RN supervision
  • Administer medications and treatments according to facility protocols
  • Accurately monitor and document vital signs, behaviors, and changes in patient condition
  • Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and inter-facility transfers
  • Support the implementation of therapeutic group activities and individual care plans
  • Uphold safety through adherence to behavioral health protocols and de-escalation techniques
  • Communicate patient progress and concerns to nursing leaders and the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications:

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license meeting state requirements
  • Experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, corrections, or long-term care settings is preferred
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Crisis intervention training (CPI, MOAB, or equivalent) preferred, or willingness to obtain before starting
  • Ability to complete all background and drug screening requirements
