Responsibilities/Duties:
- Provides care appropriate to the condition, age, and ability, the psychosocial and physical needs of the patient, including adult, pediatric, geriatric, and the general patient population within the CNA's scope of practice and hospital
- Provides general nursing care such as positioning patients, lifting and turning patients, applying/utilizing special equipment, assisting in the use of bedpan or commode, and ambulating
- Takes and records vital signs, weight, intake-output, and reports to RN or
- Enters and verifies patient data in the EMR system per current standards and
- Maintains equipment, utility areas, and support areas in a clean and neat environment. Manages and operates equipment safely and
- Restocks and orders supplies as
- Schedules surgeries, diagnostic tests, and appointments as
- Assists with patient admissions, discharge, and
- Observes patient's mental and physical conditions, reports any changes or complaints to
- Consults with other departments as necessary to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's
needs.
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and
- Communicates appropriately and clearly to RNs, staff members, medical staff, and other
- Orients new employees when
- Responds promptly to changes in workload, adjusting assignments as necessary to achieve optimal productivity and
- Performs other duties as
Education/Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Completion of CNA courses and current Wisconsin CNA Registry required
- BLS certification required before providing independent patient care, must be obtained within 30 days of start date

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:
- Ability to move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined

- Ability to move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to
- Ability to constantly communicate with others to exchange
- Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or
- Constantly demonstrate the ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the
- Involves light and medium work that includes moving objects up to 50
- Ability to lift 25-50 pounds independently
- Ability to lift 50-100 pounds with assistance or mechanical devices
- Ability to push/pull 100-200 pounds (e.g., mobile equipment, wheelchairs)
- Must work primarily indoors
- Frequent exposure to products containing latex; working with VDTs (video display terminals), dust, fumes,
Infectious disease; continuous exposure to blood/body fluids and sharp objects
