Your Job:
The Medical Assistant works under the general direction of the Physician, Nurse or Practice Manager for Methodist Vascular Specialists. You will provide healthcare to individuals and families as instructed by the physician. The MA will perform routine clinical process as directed by the physician you will also participe in pient educion, enter approprie documention into pient charts and perform other duties assigned within the scope of your licensure.
You will also be responsible for pient service representive duties.
Being a team player all times and willing to do anything asked of you. Having a "can do" titude is a must. Working well with different personalities, leadership styles and taking re-direction is a must. Travel is always possible to our other clinics in Mansfield and Charlton. Potential for addition clinics is a possibility. Reliable transportion is a must.
Your Job Requirements:
Graduion from an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
2+ years of professional medical assisting in a practice setting is preferred.
Nional/Registered Medical Assistant Certificion or obtained certificion within 90 days of hire de.
Valid CPR certificion.
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting pients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordinion.
Extensive standing and walking; frequent exposure to potentially infectious agents, communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparions and other conditions common to a physicians office; requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
Your Job Responsibilities:
Maintains strict pient confidentiality, and will use complete discretion when discussing pient informion.
Implement pient care under the guidance and direction of the all physicians, MA/Back Office Coordinor and/or Practice Manager(s).
May screen phone calls during triage under the supervision of a physician. Will function as a pient screener only, and will not make medical decisions during the triage process. Any triage phone call or face-to-face triage situion requiring a medical decision will be immediely referred to a physician.
May perform intramuscular, intradermal of subcutaneous injections with complete documention.
Assists physicians and/or MAs in providing nursing care to pients in accordance with clinic policies and procedures.
Takes pient history and vitals.
On a monthly bases check for expired medicion, keeping approprie documention and disposal.
Responsible for unpacking and maintaining medical supplies and vaccines and keeping supply closet organized.
Assist in RX refills via Fax, E-RX or phone calls and upding in the pient medicion module.
Demonstres an extensive working knowledge and practice of infection control procedures.
Cleans and disinfects all instruments and maintain QA reports for the autoclave.
Other job duties as assigned.
