Summary of Responsibilities:

To provide oversight and administrative direction to the facilitys resident and employee activities during the evening/night shift. The House Supervisor coordinates and manages both clinical and administrative activities while ensuring the highest possible level of resident care within the scope of the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and accepted standards of resident care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Obtains report from Administrative Assistants, Assistant Director of Nursing, and off-going House Supervisor as appropriate
Makes rounds to each nursing station and ensures quality control measures are in place and enforced
Completes records and administrative reports as required
Assists and supports Charge Nurses with staff issues and employee discipline processes
Assists in orientation and monitoring of new employees
Communicates policy and procedure changes to staff
Performs annual competency reviews and evaluations as assigned
Ensures all units are provided with necessary equipment and supplies
Ensures work assignments are appropriate and monitors employee compliance
Coordinates and assists with monthly checks of MARs, TARs, and medication counts
Provides facility-wide oversight of all departments and takes administrative action when necessary, including disciplinary action
Facilitates conflict resolution with families and staff using professional discretion and decision-making skills
Maintains regular, reliable, and consistent attendance
Adheres to The Groves Ethical Standards, Guidelines/Compliance Plan, and maintains high ethical standards
Complies with all HIPAA regulations and requirements
Ensures Nursing Department compliance with all federal and state regulatory and licensure requirements
Performs additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Current Missouri RN or LPN license in good standing
Two years of long-term care nursing experience preferred
Previous management or supervisory experience preferred
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Ability to work effectively with a variety of personalities
Professional judgment and initiative required

Physical & Sensory Requirements:

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and visitors
Ability to work harmoniously with other personnel
Ability to minimize waste of supplies and misuse of equipment
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
Must possess sight and hearing senses, with or without prosthetics, sufficient to perform job duties
Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability
Must be able to lift, push, pull, or move equipment and supplies exceeding 50 pounds
Must be able to lift, carry, stand, bend, squat, crawl, reach, and kneel for sustained periods using proper body mechanics

Working Conditions:
