ResponsibilitiesClinical Excellence / Patient Care & Department Support Responsibilities:
- Support patient care by assisting with activities aligned to the patients Plan of Care under nurse direction
- Deliver age-appropriate care following established guidelines, policies, and state/federal regulations
- Perform basic patient care tasks such as hygiene, nutrition, mobility support, vital signs, and specimen collection
- Assist with non-invasive procedures including oxygen setup, blood glucose testing, and simple dressings
- Accurately and promptly document all patient care activities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized care environment using standard precautions
- Identify and respond to patient safety needs, adjusting the environment as appropriate
- Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and care team members, escalating concerns in a timely manner
- Support efficient department operations by assisting with additional tasks as needed
- Demonstrate professionalism through teamwork, responsiveness, and clear communication including proper phone etiquette
Experience: Must be at least 16 years old.
License(s)/Certification(s): Successful completion and documentation of one of the following:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. Multicultural sensitivity. Microsoft Office basic computer skills. Customer/patient focused. Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
Other: Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position. Work may occasionally require travel to other UPH facilities.
