Location: Main Campus Classification: Management Position Type: Management Anticipated Start Date: Upon Hire Salary/Wage: Annual Salary/Wage Range: $98,666 - $110,985 (Management Salary Grade 22) Salary/Compensation Statement:

  • The position's full salary range is $98,666 to $140,049. New employees cannot be placed higher than $110,985 (step 4 on the salary grade) due to internal equity. The application is used to determine the initial salary placement for selected candidates. All employment and education history will be considered.
  • Our Management Benefits package includes a generous contribution toward medical, dental and vision insurance, long term disability as well as paid sick leave and vacation time.
  • Lane Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan. Required Qualifications

Required Education:

Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution is required.

Required Experience:

  • Experience with nursing baccalaureate-level curriculum.
  • Four (4) years of full-time or full-time equivalent teaching experience as a nurse educator.
  • Two (2) years of increasingly responsible administrative, management, and/or leadership experience in nursing or higher education.
  • At least one (1) year of administrative experience in nursing education.

Licensure or Certification Requirements

Actively licensed as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner in Oregon.

Position Purpose:

Provide leadership and management of all nursing programs in a manner that promotes quality of student learning, fiscal sustainability, collaboration with other college programs, staff development, and alignment with the College's Strategic Directions, in conjunction with and under the leadership of the Senior Dean. Provides general support to the Division of Health Professions, Health and Physical education, as needed and as directed by the Senior Dean.

Essential Functions:

Leadership

  • Provides leadership for all nursing programs under the supervision and direction of the Senior Dean.
  • Participate as needed in the leadership teams within the HPHPEA Division, Academic Affairs, and the college management team.
  • Supports the vision for the division as a whole and advocates for nursing programs and the division as an important contributor within the college.
  • Develop and/or monitor the negotiation of grants and contracts with potential community partners to generate revenue and enhance services in alignment with division and college strategies, under the supervision of the Senior Dean.
  • Works collegially with faculty, staff, and managers, including encouraging change, creativity, and innovation, to offer high-quality educational experiences and services for students.
  • Promotes excellence in the nursing program and division through the supervision, assignment of work, recruitment, selection, evaluation, development, and recognition of assigned faculty members, classified staff, and student workers, under the supervision and direction of the Senior Dean.
  • Identifies future division and program equipment and facility needs, and works to procure funding for these identified needs.
  • Engages in college-wide work including the development, review, and implementation of the College's strategic and planning processes.
  • Contributes to the development of long-range plans, annual goals and objectives, and evaluative measures to ensure the ongoing commitment to quality and excellence.
  • Advocates for support of programs, faculty, staff, and facilities at the college and in the greater community within available resources.
  • Promotes an environment responsive to student needs; addresses and participates in resolving student and faculty issues and complaints; promotes a safe learning and working environment free from harassment, discrimination, intimidation, bullying, or other unprofessional or unlawful behaviors.

Administration / Operations

  • Plans, organizes, administers, develops, and evaluates programs, projects, and activities of assigned division, departments, and programs, under the leadership of the Senior Dean.
  • Supports compliance with college personnel policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and practices for the employment of faculty, classified staff, students, and temporary or substitute workers; under the supervision and direction of the Senior Dean, participates in search committees and processes.
  • Identifies and communicates with the Senior Dean regarding anticipated changes to programs based upon local and national trends.
  • Coordinates with the division and sets the course schedules, modalities, and sequencing to ensure that student and program needs are met.
  • Monitors and manages course schedules, and makes teaching assignments, to meet enrollment demands based on resources, technology, and facilities.
  • Facilitates the preparation and development of budgets for programs and assumes responsibility for budget administration within available resources, under the leadership of the Senior Dean.
  • Maintains records and documentation.
  • Contributes to reports about how the college's institutional goals are being achieved.
  • Ensure the implementation of the College's Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunities concerning policies, goals, and timetables in assigned areas. Ensure staff development on diversity, inclusive climate, and respectful learning and working environment issues.
  • Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students.

Curriculum / Instruction / Educational Leadership

  • Collaborates with internal and external division stakeholders including state and regional stakeholder groups related to curricula, educational policy, and articulation with other colleges and universities division disciplines and/or services. May include leadership and oversight of advisory committees.
  • Facilitates and promotes faculty skill in developing multicultural and diversity-based curricula, and implementation of all diversity initiatives.
  • Promotes and supports the development, assessment, and maintenance of nursing and division programs, curriculum, facilities, and personnel.
  • Monitors the assessment of instructional program and course outcomes, especially those related to student success, and assures program effectiveness through the development and implementation of an improvement plan based on assessed outcomes; monitors and approves the allocation of personnel, responsibility, and priorities for program review, under the leadership of the Senior Dean.
  • Collaborates with appropriate faculty, staff, managers, and regional education leaders to ensure instructional program and course articulation is current and aligned with current transfer and employment partners.
  • Promotes and supports the development of effective and innovative instructional strategies, methodologies, technologies, and practices; including distance learning opportunities for rural communities in the college district, and low cost educational resources.
  • Facilitate and promote K-12 partnerships, including accelerated learning and dual enrollment activities, under the direction of the Senior Dean.
  • Actively ensure faculty have the necessary support, tools, and resources to conduct assessments of courses, programs, and student achievements.

Supervision Statement:

Reports to the Dean of Health Professions.

Physical Demands/Working Environment:

  • This position works indoors and is exposed to usual office working conditions that include office noises and interruptions, such as printers, telephones, and visitors.
  • This position requires that an employee is able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; perform cognitive and psychometric work for more than six (6) hours a day.
  • Work may require transporting materials up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
