General Job Brief
Arizona Christian University is seeking a Director of Nursing to provide founding leadership for the development and launch of ACUs nursing program. This individual will guide the creation of a high-quality, mission-aligned nursing curriculum; lead the state approval and programmatic accreditation processes; recruit and develop faculty; help design clinical partnerships and student learning experiences; and establish the academic, operational, and assessment systems needed for long-term program success. The Director of Nursing should be an experienced nurse educator and administrator who can combine regulatory expertise, curricular vision, organizational leadership, and a commitment to Christian higher education as ACU prepares students for lives of professional excellence, compassionate service, and faithful leadership in health care.
This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of, and commitment to, ACU's unique Christian mission and vision to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship. The Director of Nursing will be a faculty member.
Key Responsibilities
Work in collaboration with the Universitys mission to launch a nursing program that will make ACU a leading nursing training center in the Southwest.
Interface with appropriate stakeholders, including donors, hospitals, and other community partners.
Work closely with ACUs academic leadership to develop curriculum and academic systems.
Assist in the building of nursing and allied health labs and other student support resources.
Liaise with Admissions and Financial Aid to ensure appropriate processes for admission to ACU and the nursing program.
Coordinate with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness to successfully obtain all necessary accreditations and authorizations to launch the nursing program.
Initiate and develop relationships and partnerships with community partners who would add value to the nursing program.
Regularly report on the programs progress to constituents.
Maintain the confidentiality of all departments and University information.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Demonstrated alignment with and enthusiastic support for the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University, including signing the University's Statement of Faith and Core Commitments annually.
Education and Experience
Masters required, Doctoral degree strongly preferred.
Special Requirements
Must be willing to work occasional nights and weekends, attend special recruiting events, and perform work travel as needed to develop the program.
