Front Office Medical Assistant
Busy and growing private medical practice is seeking a reliable, organized, and personable Front Office Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate excellent multitasking abilities, and provide outstanding customer service to our patients.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Answering and directing incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner
Scheduling and confirming patient appointments
Greeting and checking in patients
Collecting copays, payments, and updating patient information
Obtaining and processing insurance prior authorizations
Managing and transferring medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Filing and maintaining accurate patient records and office documentation
Assisting with patient inquiries and coordinating communication between patients, providers, and insurance companies
Performing general administrative and front office duties as needed
Liaising with pharmacies
Qualifications:
Previous medical office experience preferred but not required
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Professional demeanor and positive attitude
Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and prior authorizations is a plus
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer applications
