Summary

  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
    • Provides collaborative leadership for the process of planning, directing, integrating and coordinating activities to achieve departmental objectives and maintain high quality services. Responsible for operations of assigned department(s). Provides oversight as needed; responsible for personnel management, budget planning and monitoring, scheduling, systems improvement, compliance with regulatory requirements and strategic planning. Works in a clinical capacity to facilitate smooth functioning of the department when necessary.
  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    • The Intensive Care Unit provides direct care or influences care for acutely/critically ill patients who are at high risk for actual or potential life-threatening health problems. The ICU provides care through advanced knowledge and experience in a setting that provides intensive monitoring, assessments, and interventions.

  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
    • BSN or equivalent experience required. Master's degree preferred.
    • Current unencumbered Oregon RN License required.
    • Healthcare Provider BLS required upon hire.
    • Two (2) years RN experience and two (2) years in a leadership role required.
    • Successful completion of management courses/education program preferred.
    • GSR ICU-CCU:
      • ACLS and PALS required within 90 days of hire.
      • TNCC/ATCN required within six (6) months of hire.
      • Verification of high school diploma or equivalent required due to the College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements for moderate complexity testing.
