Position Purpose
The Nurse Supervisor is a designated clinical leader responsible for coordinating, planning, and overseeing patient care operations within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Neuro specialty area. Working in collaboration with the Department Director, this role ensures high-quality, safe, and efficient care delivery while promoting staff engagement, regulatory compliance, and service excellence in alignment with Trinity Healths Mission and values.
What You Will Do
Shift: Full-time 36-hour Day
Provides clinical and operational leadership for the PCU/Neuro unit during assigned shift
Coordinates patient care delivery, staffing assignments, and daily workflow based on patient acuity and census
Supervises nursing and support staff, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and evidence-based practices
Makes cost-effective decisions related to staffing, supplies, and resource utilization
Ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements
Participates in the development and implementation of patient care standards and clinical workflows
Supports quality improvement, patient safety, and performance initiatives
Facilitates staff orientation, onboarding, and ongoing professional development
Conducts performance evaluations and provides coaching, mentoring, and corrective action as needed
Promotes a culture of service excellence and patient-centered care
Serves as a clinical resource and professional role model for PCU/Neuro staff
Minimum Qualifications
Required
Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Current Registered Nurse licensure in Maryland or Compact State
BLS certification (American Heart Association) ; additional life support certifications as required by unit
Minimum of three (3) years of acute care RN experience
Preferred
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
Prior informal or formal leadership experience in an acute care setting
Experience in progressive care, neuro, or cardiac patient populations
PCCN certification preferred (must obtain within six [6] months of hire)
Pay Range: $39.47 $61.20/hour
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
