POSITION OVERVIEW:

Responsible for the daily flow of perioperative patients in the Pre-Op/PACU areas.
Responsible to plan, implement, and evaluate care for surgical patients. This encompasses patient issues, staffing
issues, schedule issues, and daily problem solving. Ensures staff adhere to patient safety standards, and
documentation requirements according to CPAN standards, recommended practices. Works cooperatively with:
Providers, Healthcare Professionals, and Allied Health Staff. Works collaboratively daily with the Great Falls Hospital
PACU Supervisor. Receives direction from: Director of Perioperative Services, Anesthesia, Surgeons,
and Chief Nursing Officer. Gives directions to: Pre-Op/PACU staff

EDUCATION:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program or school
  • BSN, preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of previous experience in PACU
  • Previous Charge experience, preferred.
  • Critical Care nursing experience, preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • MT State Nursing License
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • CPAN or ASPAN, desired

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Basic Nursing Principles and Procedures
  • Principles of Asepsis
  • CPAN Guidelines for Perioperative Practice
  • Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform the essential functions of the position
