MedStar Union Memorial Hospital is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Cardiovascular Services to join our nursing leadership team. In this vital role, you will support and guide our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) and Cardiovascular Intermedie Care (CVIMC) teamsdriving excellence in pient care while empowering nurses to grow, develop, and thrive.

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with experience as a charge nurse, preceptor, or emerging leader who is ready to transition into a formal leadership role and make a meaningful impact.

** This position requires day, evening and or night shift hours.

General Summary of Position

The Assistant Director of Nursing is a member of MedStar Health entity-based Division of Nursing and leadership team. Supports and collabores with the Director of Nursing in providing leadership and oversight for a specific unit/department. Directs and coordines the nursing and pient care delivery of the unit-based professional and support personnel. Ensures the provision of holistic, culturally competent, and person-centered, quality, safe, and cost-effective evidence-based nursing care for pients/families. Applies the nursing process within the context of the organizion's shared/collaborive decision-making framework. Collaborively manages the pient's transitions across the continuum of care to assist pients and populions in achieving or maintaining an optimal level of health and functioning. The Assistant Director of Nursing assumes administrive and leadership authority and responsibility during a specific shift (e.g., evening or night) for the assigned unit/department. Fosters associes' commitment to improving quality, safety, and cost-conscious pient care outcomes. Collabores with the Director of Nursing in maintaining adherence to regulory and accredition standards, and MedStar Health's policies and procedures. Demonstres leadership and behaviors which are consistent with MedStar's mission, vision, goals, SPIRIT Values, pient care philosophy, and sound moral and ethical judgement.

Qualificions

  • BSN or MSN from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Experience in CVICU, CCU, or CVIMC (strongly preferred)

  • Active MD RN License or Active Compact Ste RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).
